DONE

Your split PDFs are ready.

HOW IT WORKS

Three moves. Then you’re done.

SplitPDF keeps the conversion workflow small: add the PDF, choose the break, export the pieces you actually need.

CHOOSE

Drop in your PDF

Pick the document from your device. SplitPDF reads it in your browser and opens the workspace.

DECIDE

Choose the break

Every page, odd, even, ranges or custom groups. Preview the pages before you commit.

GET THE FILES

Download and move on

Each result keeps the original filename and gets a clean split number. Download one file or the whole ZIP.

WHY SPLITPDF

A specialist tool, not a PDF warehouse.

SplitPDF is built around one recurring job: taking one document and turning it into the smaller documents you actually need.

FAST

Skip the upload round trip.

The core split runs in the browser, so the PDF does not need to sit in a remote processing queue just to be cut into pieces.

PRIVATE

Keep useful files close.

Contracts, invoices, signed forms and internal reports can stay inside a local workflow instead of being uploaded for splitting.

NO ACCOUNT

No profile between you and the result.

Choose the file, choose the method, split it. That is the workflow.

FOCUSED

Good at one job.

Five split methods cover the common cases without turning the page into an office suite.

PDF SPLITTING GUIDE

Good splitting practices depend on the job.

Splitting is simple, but the best method changes with the goal. A clean split keeps page order obvious, makes filenames useful and avoids creating files nobody needs.

Need every page separately?

Use Every page when each page has its own meaning: invoices, receipts, signed forms, individual applications or page-by-page archival.

Need chapters or sections?

Use Page ranges when your document naturally breaks into consecutive blocks. For example, 1–8 for a report, 9–22 for an appendix and 23–31 for supporting material.

Working with a duplex scan?

Try Odd pages or Even pages when alternating source pages belong to different groups. It is often faster than manually selecting dozens of pages.

Need an irregular selection?

Use Custom groups when useful pages are not consecutive. A group such as 1, 4–6, 12 becomes one focused PDF in the order you specify.

Want smaller attachments?

Splitting is not compression, but a focused PDF can still be easier to email, upload or archive when the original contains unrelated pages you do not need to send.

Handling a private document?

A browser-first workflow can be useful when you do not need a server to perform the job. Keep the original until you have checked the results.

FAQ

The practical questions.

Everything worth knowing before you split a PDF.

Does SplitPDF upload my PDF?

The core split workflow is browser-side. SplitPDF is not built around a remote PDF upload queue.

Is SplitPDF private?

The PDF splitting operation is designed to run locally in the browser. The page itself can still load external libraries and other web resources.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no SplitPDF account or login required to split and download a PDF.

Can I preview the pages before splitting?

Yes. The workspace renders a large live page preview and a page strip so you can move through the source document before choosing how to split it.

Can I split every page into its own PDF?

Yes. Choose Every page and one PDF is created for each page in the source document.

Can I split only odd or even pages?

Yes. Odd pages creates one PDF containing pages 1, 3, 5 and so on. Even pages creates one containing pages 2, 4, 6 and so on.

How do page ranges work?

Enter one range per line, for example 1-3, 4-8 and 9-12. Each line becomes a separate PDF.

What are custom groups?

Custom groups let you combine single pages and ranges, such as 1,3,5-7. Each line becomes one output PDF.

Can I download all results at once?

Yes. After splitting, download individual PDFs or the generated ZIP containing every output.

Does splitting reduce PDF quality?

Splitting is not a compression step. The selected source pages are copied into new PDF documents without intentionally downscaling them.

Can I use SplitPDF for large PDFs?

Large PDFs can require substantial browser memory. SplitPDF uses a practical file limit because not every browser/device combination can process very large documents comfortably.

Should I keep the original PDF?

Yes. Keep the original until you have opened the result files and confirmed their page order and contents.
